Michelle Ayoroa-Perez, DDS

Dr. Michelle Ayoroa-Perez is the proud owner of our dental practice and a dedicated clinician who brings passion, precision, and warmth to every patient interaction. Originally from Potomac, MD she comes from a family of dentists, Dr. Ayoroa-Perez was inspired early on by the power of oral health to improve lives — and built her career around that mission. With several years of hands-on experience in dentistry, she combines clinical excellence with a genuine passion for helping people achieve healthier, more confident smiles. Whether she’s working with a patient one-on-one or volunteering her time in underserved communities, Dr. Perez’s love for connecting with others truly shines.
Why Dentistry?
Dr. Perez’s journey into dentistry began in high school when she started working as a dental assistant. That early experience opened her eyes to the life-changing impact of quality dental care. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference, she spent nine years assisting before making the leap to dental school. Her dedication to service continued through volunteer work with multiple Mission of Mercy, where she provided free care to those in need.
Education & Advanced Training
Dr. Ayoroa-Perez began her academic career at the University of Maryland, College Park, then earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She went on to a rigorous residency through the NYU Langone Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, with a special focus on public health and prenatal care on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Continuing education is a cornerstone of her approach. Dr. Perez has completed advanced training with:

Outside the Office
When she’s not leading the team or caring for patients, Dr. Ayoroa-Perez enjoys spending time with her close-knit family in Potomac, her fiancé Greg, and their adorable new pup, Captain. She’s also planning her wedding for February 2026, so life is full of excitement and love! A true adventurer at heart, she’s visited more than 25 countries, enjoys water sports, Pilates, and exploring new places or restaurants whenever she can.
Clayton McCarl, Jr., DDS
Fun Fact: enjoys exercising, watching his grandchildren‘s games and performances, and is an avid fan of University of Maryland sports and the Baltimore Ravens.
Dr. Clayton McCarl was born and raised in College Park, MD. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park in 1977, and soon after he enrolled in the University of Maryland Dental School along with his brother Jay, graduating in 1984.
Today, Dr. Clayton has been practicing for over 40 years, and when not at the dental office, he loves spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Jay McCarl, DDS, FAGD
Fun Fact: Fun Fact: Dr Jay has coached many youth sports teams, played pick-up basketball for 45 years, and even helped author a book about the history of Greenbelt, where his grandfather was the very first dentist!
Dr. Jay McCarl began his college education at Gettysburg College, obtaining his B.A. before enrolling in one of the top-rated dental schools in the country, the University of Maryland Dental School. He got to share the experience with his brother, Dr. Clayton, and eventually graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
When not at the dental office, Dr. Jay likes to spend most of his time with his wife Kimberly and their children, Jonah and Tori.

Outside the Office
Participated in volunteer dental mission trips to the hills of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, providing care to underserved communities. Most recently, traveled to Warsaw, Poland with team members Carla and Josie to offer dental treatment to Ukrainian refugees.
Meghan Segreti, DDS
Fun Fact:
Originally from Deale, Maryland, Dr. Segreti is a proud University of Maryland School of Dentistry grad and former Division I lacrosse player at Mercer University. She recently completed a General Practice Residency in Asheville, NC, where she gained advanced training in restorative and surgical dentistry.
She’s passionate about building strong patient relationships, giving back to her community, and providing top-tier dental care with a personal touch.
Outside the office, you’ll find her on the water, training for a half marathon, or cheering on the Washington Commanders!
